The swept -Hilt rapier was the civilian choice of weapon. This brass swept -hilted replica, has nine brass bars, all at least 1/8" thick and swirl and curve to make a cage that protects the hand from being cut . Also it often caught the opponent's blade, opening one up to a fatal stab. It has a carbon spring steel blade, a wooden grip wound in steel wire for a better grip, & a grooved brass pommel.
