This sword is very similar to the earlier British 1908 Pattern. It received its name because it was aptterned in the year of 1912 by by the British War Department
Hilt is constructed in nickel-plated sheet steel, half-basket style, with "fish-skin-wrapped" grip wrapped in twisted steel wire; the decorated basket.
Straight, single-edged, single-fullered blade (both sides).
The Scabbard is Sam Browne type, brown leather-wrapped wood, nickel-plated steel throat, leather drag.
